Opportunities From: Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority

We are seeking two (2) amazing volunteers to represent the Authority at Starbird Park on Thursday July 9th for the City of San José Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Viva Parks summer event series. We will need two volunteers to arrive by 5 p.m. to set-up a table, canopy with weights, and agency resources. The public event is from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Volunteers may begin break down at roughly 8:30pm once the movie starts and depart with booth materials when ready. Note, park has a small parking lot available in park parking lot or street parking along Boyton Ave & Starbird Cir. May have to cart items into the park to set up location. Shift time 5pm-8:30pm.

This Viva Parks is also on National Night Out which a night designed to: strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships, heighten crime prevention awareness, and build connections within the community and get to know your neighbors. The Authority is attending National Night in all seven of our districts and we hope that volunteers find an event that they can be a part of and share our exciting programs with our community -- we hope we can see you there!

The public event is from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Volunteers may begin break down at 8 p.m. and depart with booth materials when ready. Small park parking lot available and street parking along S. Blaney Ave or Rainbow Dr. Shift time 5pm-8pm.

The public event is from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Volunteers may begin break down at 8:00pm and depart with booth materials when ready. Small parking lot available at Los Paseos Park, additional street parking available on Chantilley Ln. Shift time 5pm-8:00pm.

Event parking will be limited to street parking unless otherwise noted.

NOTE: There are two Delano Manongs Park in Santa Clara County - this is the one in San Jose.

Help us engage our communities at Raptor Encounter! We need two volunteers to support the OSA information booth during this event.  The event runs from 5:30pm-8:00pm. on Sunday July 26, 2026. Volunteer shift will be 5:00pm-8:30pm. Set up starting at 5pm. Tabling begins at 5:30pm-6:00pm, program runs from 6-8pm. Breakdown and clean up 8-8:30pm.

Raptor Encounter is a free educational event that highlights very important species of raptors who play an integral role in the health of our ecosystems!  The event will be hosted at Morgan Hill Community Center, by POST in partnership with OSA.

We are excited to have volunteer champions to represent the Authority at this fun event! Details coordinating pick-up and drop-off of materials will be confirmed as we get closer to the event. Please let us know if you are able to transport materials (kit, table, chairs, canopy, weights and cart) when you sign up.  We will send out further details to sign-ups as they are confirmed.

We are seeking five volunteer ambassadors to help represent OSA by walking in the 2026 Morgan Hill Freedom Fest Parade on Saturday July 4, 2026. The parade begins at 10am. Shift time will be approximately 9:30am-12:30pm with goal to bring extra fun and excitement to the parade! We will have an OSA vehicle and walkers participating in the parade, with walkers handing out giveaways.

Please plan to bring the following items with you:
-Water
-Hat and sunglasses
-Sunscreen
-Comfortable walking shoes
-Wear your Volunteer OSA shirt.

As details around parade participant logistics are shared, this event will be updated. For now, what we know is represented here and we hope to identify volunteers to join us for the fun and excitement.
