Who We Are
We are agency ambassadors and information resources for visitors in our Open Space Preserves. We commit to patrolling the Authority’s open space preserves consistently each week, on foot, bicycle or horseback.
What We Do
Trail Patrol Volunteers engage all members of the public that visit our preserves. They act as gate openers for the public, helping them understand what make our preserves unique, what different hiking trails are available, and what the guidelines are for guests. Trail Patrol Volunteers enjoy connecting with the public and making sure they have a great experience in the preserve. Trail Patrol volunteers submit observations from their patrol in their hours report and report immediate hazards to appropriate staff.
Requirements
- Interpretive Host Training (offered quarterly)
- Trail Patrol Volunteers must be at least 18 years or older.
- Livescan fingerprinting (at no cost to volunteer)
