We are seeking roving docents for our Open Access Earth Day event
at Máyyan 'Ooyákma on April 19, 2025!
Volunteer shift time: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. OR 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Date: Saturday, April 19, 2025
Program Time (when the public will be there): 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Máyyan 'Ooyákma

Description: Join us as we celebrate Earth Day in one of our valley’s most biodiverse preserves! Sign up for a fun day where you can pick the experience you have as a docent. Opportunities include: hiking, helping with activities, playing with BUBBLES, general information sharing with the public, birding, and other fun things! Sign up if you’re available, and we’ll chat more about what you would like to do.
- 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. shift volunteers will help with set up from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., and then support the event until 1 p.m.
- 12:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. shift volunteers will assist with the event until 3:00 p.m., and then assist with clean-up/take-down from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Note:
- This will be a flexible shift where docents may be asked to assist with various tasks, and also invited to support activities they feel drawn to when there is time to do so
- If cloudy or inclement weather is forecasted, volunteers will be directly informed by either OSA staff if the event needs to be cancelled
- Bring layers, good shoes, water, snacks, and everything you need to be self-sufficient for the event
