Our docent, Paul Billig, will be leading our tarantula trek hike, and is seeking sweeps support to help with the group.
Description shared with the public: Join Open Space Authority docents for a slow, gently paced 2-mile walk along Rancho Cañada del Oro's flat Longwall Canyon Trail in search of the elusive California ebony tarantula (Aphonopelma eutylenum). Learn about the tarantula’s amazing lifestyle and how these fascinating animals survive in the wild. Families welcome! Please bring water to drink and comfortable walking shoes.
