We are offering FIVE docents the opportunity to come assist with a public program at Little Uvas involving exploration and nature journaling after dark! This is an opportunity to shadow and train with Kat on journaling, our Little Uvas property, and generally experience a night program in a special place. Background knowledge is not necessary, though an enthusiasm for learning is desired!
Bonus is that we will watch for batty residents emerge from their roost over the ponds.
Project name for reporting hours: Guided Hike
Program Description for the Public:
Join Open Space Authority staff and volunteers for an evening nature journal exploration of Little Uvas Preserve. We will casually explore this oak woodland, provide journals and writing materials on site and have the opportunity to watch bats emerge from their roost over the ponds! We will be hiking over uneven terrain over about 1/2 mile and will be arriving back to vehicles after dark. Please bring good shoes, a backpack with water and snacks, red-flashlight and layers. Join us to learn about and admire our batty residents!
