6/20/2026 Sweeps Needed for Wisdom of the Oaks at Little Uvas

Calendar Happens On Jun 20, 2026
Time 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Expired

Description

Charles S will be leading a 'Wisdom of the Oaks' Program.

We would like to have 3 volunteers to come help with this easy walk at Little Uvas. Please plan to arrive a little bit early so that you can help people park and close the gate. Plan to bring your volunteer uniform, sun protection, food, water, close-toed shoes and layers. As a sweep you will help keep the group together and answer questions about the Authority.  Your shift will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. The program starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.

Since this program is occuring at Little Uvas, we will need someone to monitor the gate so that the horse does not escape.

This is what has been sent to the attendees:

In this guided hike, OSA docents will focus on the relationships within the ecosystem, including our individual relationships with nature. In this walk and talk, we will get to meet various oak trees and hear the stories they tell through tree rings, seasonal changes, relationships with other organisms and so much more! This walk will only be 100 ft elevation gain and about a 1.5 mile round trip. It will include some shade, however we recommend bringing plenty of water, close-toed shoes and sun protection.
