The Furtado Barn is a beautiful riparian site with lots of potential for restoration. This September we will be returning to the Furtado Barn to continue removing a fence between the restoration area and the orchard as well as remove some invasive species from the restoration area. The work may involve walking along steep sections of hillside (within the eucalyptus grove). Specific hazards will be pointed out and avoided on site.
We will provide clean gloves, tools, and project-related supplies as well as training for the day. A portojohn will be on site for anyone who needs it.
Please note that we allow youth (14-17) to join us with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian.
Please note that we need all volunteers to arrive on time to the Sierra Vista staging area (8:30 a.m.) so that we can carpool in Authority vehicles down to the work area.
