We are looking for 4 docents to help during the Blue Supermoon Walk at Máyyan ‘Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge from 6:30pm – 9:30pm on Wednesday August 30th.
We will need help with crowd control, answering general questions, and reminding guests to leave on time. This will be one of the first events we’ve done at Máyyan ‘Ooyákma in a while so I’m sure there will be lots of questions, not just about the blue supermoon but also about the new preserve. We also want to make sure folks are staying in the main entrance area and not wandering up the trails.
About the event: Blue moons are rare, but blue SUPERmoons are especially unique! This will be the second full moon in August making it a blue moon. This blue moon will also be closer to earth than usual, making it look extra big, bright, and beautiful! Join us for a short educational program all about the full moon and a chance to view the rising of the blue supermoon during this special access event at Máyyan ‘Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve.
What to bring: Volunteer shirt, high-vis-vest, flashlight, comfortable walking shoes, light layers, and a camp chair for watching the full moon!
