We are looking for 10 volunteers to help on Saturday October 14th from 8:00am – 1:00pm with a Community Day Celebration at Máyyan ‘Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve!
We will need help with set up, tear down, parking vehicles, helping folks get butterfly passes, and a craft area. More details will come soon about each station and what will be needed. About half of the volunteers will be in the parking area till about 12p at Tulare Meadow helping with parking. The other half will be helping with set up and kids crafts at Máyyan ‘Ooyákma!
Where: Máyyan ‘Ooyákma – Coyote Ride Open Space Preserve: 9611 Malech Rd, Morgan Hill, CA 95037 OR Tulare Meadow Parking Area: 37.206179, -121.741587 depending on where you are stationed.
What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, a camp chair, volunteer shirt, high vis vest, sun protection, plenty of food and water!
About the event: This community event is all about butterflies! We will be having guests park at the Tulare Meadow parking area and then shuttling them over to Máyyan ‘Ooyákma. At Máyyan ‘Ooyákma we will have some booths with our partners, butterfly related crafts, and a butterfly parade. Everyone will be invited to dress up as butterflies and at 12:00pm everyone who dressed up will be invited to walk in the parade as we do a loop around the short, paved trail near the parking lot.
