We are looking for one or two sweeps to help with a silent sunrise viewing program at Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve on Saturday December 2nd from 6:15am - 8:00am!
As a sweep you will help to answer any questions and keep the group together. The actual program will be from 6:30am – 8:00am, but you will arrive at 6:15am to check in with Teri and greet guests as they arrive. This program will take place at the Sierra Vista staging area so no hiking involved.
What to bring: Please bring comfortable walking shoes, a camp chair, warm layers, plenty of snacks and water, and of course wear your volunteer shirt.
About the event: Are you a morning person? Grab your cup of coffee or tea and come watch the sunrise from the parking area at Sierra Vista. Beyond welcoming you, this will be a silent experience, allowing you to take in the beauty of early December while enjoying your morning beverage. Dress warm and be aware there are no restrooms at this location. Come watch the sunrise in peace and quiet as a wonderful way to start your day!
How to get there: Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve is located at 5345 Sierra Rd, San Jose, CA 93132. It is a large, protected area in the hills directly above Alum Rock Park. For more information about Sierra Vista check out our website: Sierra Vista (openspaceauthority.org)
