We are looking for one or two sweeps to help with a silent guided hike for all ability levels at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve on Saturday December 16th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm!
As a sweep you will stay in the back of the group of hikers helping to answer any questions and keeping the group together. The actual program will be from 3:30pm – 5:00pm, but you will arrive at 3:00pm to check in with Teri and greet guests as they arrive. This hike will be about 1/2 miles along the paved Llagas Loop Trail.
What to bring: Please bring comfortable hiking shoes, warm layers, plenty of snacks and water, and of course wear your volunteer shirt.
About the event: Is talking a challenge for you? Whether you are differently abled or just shy, this Silent “Hike” is for you. Your guide will introduce you to various gentle sensory experiences as they take you on a slow meander around a ½ mile paved loop trail at the peaceful and scenic Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve. In solidarity, there will be no speaking after the introduction and the program begins. All sensory experiences are challenge by choice and completely safe. This part of the preserve was originally designed for people with mobility issues. People of all abilities are welcome to join us for this nature experience. Have questions, or need more information?
