Sweeps Needed: In Search of Soap Root Hike at Rancho

We are looking for 2 sweeps to help on a guided hike on Saturday June 15th from 2:00pm - 7:30pm at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve! As a sweep you will hike in the back of the group to assist the docent leading the hike, keep the group together, and to help answer questions.

The actual event starts at 2:30pm. Please arrive at 2:00pm to check in Paul and help greet early arrivals.

About the Event: This hike will be led by docent Paul and will be all about Soap Root! As spring almost turns to summer, the soaproot plant prepares to bloom when evening comes. Join docent Paul on a late afternoon hike along the Mayfair Ranch and Longwall Canyon Trails and witness these flowers coming to life.  The 5-mile hike includes an elevation gain of 700 feet. Please meet in the overflow parking lot

What to Bring: Please wear your volunteer shirt, comfortable hiking shoes, bring plenty of water and a snack to eat during the hike.

Where to Go: Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve: 4289 Casa Loma Rd, Morgan Hill, CA 95037. For this hike please meet in the overflow parking lot. The overflow parking lot is about 200ft past the main parking lot of your left hand side.
