Description

Enjoy a sunset and night hike at the Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve!  The Santa Clara Valley Land Trust in coordination with the Open Space Authority, is hosting a fun enrichment hike for Open Space Authority volunteers!

On Saturday, Nov 2 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. we will meet at 33 Las Colinas Lane in San Jose, the Open Space Authority HQ, to carpool to the site together. The hike is 2 miles on a rough grade steep ranch road, so please wear hiking shoes and bring poles if you need them. You may also want layers, snacks, plenty of water and a good headlamp for picking your way down the road after dark. We are planning to arrive back at vehicles by 7:30 p.m. and will carpool back to OSA headquarters.

Please sign up in the volunteer portal as space is limited. You may bring a plus one but please email Kat Hill (khill@openspaceauthority.org) or mention in the additional notes if you plan to do so so that we can ensure that we have enough space for everyone.

If this hike sells out we will consider offering another date later in the month!

The Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve includes 116 acres of open space land dedicated to the protection of the Bay Checkerspot Butterfly, California red legged frog, and other threatened and endangered species. This site is located in south San Jose and is not open to the public.
